EVOL is reaching back and is tying this very important chapter of American History to EVOL Unlimited's business goals. With the invention of the cotton gin in 1793 by Eli Whitney, the cotton industry was rEVOLuntionized and cotton became very profitable, requiring a large labor force. Slavery regained its former strength and expanded, becoming more entrenched in the South region. Black slaves gave birth in the cotton fields, sang in the fields, planned their escapes in the fields and died in the cotton fields. Cotton is the commodity that is being used to produce the EVOL Clothing Line, therefore it is only a completion of the circle of life for Blacks in America, that EVOL will use Cotton as a means to educate and give back to our community and " Complete the Circle". |
